Tharoor PR actions

What was the PR mission of Tharoor?
We could identify two of Tharoor’s PR mission and they were to
- Communicate to the external world the UN message
- On the other hand the second PR mission of Tharoor is to transmit the image of the UN from the external perspective.

2. Identify the PR problem of the UN
The major criticism the UN faces is that it is being a talking shop.

3. How did Tharoor solve the problem?
In order to solve the problem Tharoor opted for having more press conference sessions and by issuing guidelines that authorize officials in the UN to freely speak to the external world (such as the press). This is the first time in 55 years that such authorization is being granted by the UN

4. What are the main publics of the PR campaign?
The main publics of the PR campaign are:
The main public we are looking at here are the
-External and internal public
Amongst the external public we can find the media or simple opponents.

5. What are the main components of Tharoor PR strategy?
Convince the public opinion that the UN is not a talk shop
Adopt the PR public information model in order to inform the public about the PR campaign
Reach the public through an extensive use of media
Persuade and influence the public opinion

6. Identify Tharoor's definition of PR?
Telling the truth, often to people who don't have the time to hear it. It's also about using the public to help shape what you really are doing, because the fact is that the public ultimately is why you're doing it. (Tharoor)

7. Critics
I believe that Tharoor will bring a new and fresh touch to the UN in terms of structure and conviviality with the general public. The UN accomplishes an important duty toward the society and as a consequence it duty is to perform its mission in the best manner possible. To share information with the external public is in a way proving the efficiency and professionalism of the organization towards its society.
